Energy bar

A 50 g energy bar to eat before or during exercise, in four flavours: Érable Pomme, Framboise & Citron, Fraise & Ananas and Cerise & Chocolat. Krono designs it in the Laurentians and makes it in Quebec.

It provides 29 to 32 g of carbohydrates depending on the flavour, the main fuel during physical activity. All four flavours are sweetened with pear juice concentrate and date syrup and made with whole grain oats, which are filling.

Format: 50 g bar.

Ingredients, Érable Pomme: sugars (concentrated pear juice, date syrup), gluten-free whole grain oat flour, gluten-free whole grain oat flakes, apple, pumpkin seed, tapioca syrup fibre, sunflower oil, maple flakes (maple syrup), water, pectin, natural flavour.

Ingredients, Framboise & Citron: sugars (pear juice concentrate, date syrup), oat flakes, whole oat flour, sunflower seeds, raspberry, tapioca syrup fibre, pumpkin seeds, water, sunflower oil, rice protein, pea protein, pectin, natural flavour, lemon.

Ingredients, Fraise & Ananas: whole oats (flour, flakes), sugars (pear juice concentrate, date syrup), sunflower seeds, tapioca syrup fibre, pumpkin seeds, strawberry, water, sunflower oil, pineapple (pineapple, sugar, citric acid), natural flavour, pectin.

Ingredients, Cerise & Chocolat: two different lists have been published for this flavour. First list: sugars (pear juice concentrate, date syrup), whole grain oat flour, whole grain oat flakes, raisins (raisins, sunflower oil), unsweetened chocolate, cherry [cherry, sugars (apple juice concentrate), sunflower oil], dried apple pomace, pumpkin seed, soluble tapioca fibre, water, sunflower oil, cocoa powder (alkali-processed), natural flavour, pectin. Second list: whole grain oat flour, sugars (pear juice concentrate, date syrup), unsweetened chocolate, cherry (cherry, sugars [apple juice concentrate], sunflower oil), pumpkin seed, crispy brown rice (brown rice, rice syrup, salt), tapioca syrup fibre, water, sunflower oil, cocoa powder, natural flavour, pectin. The composition may vary by batch; check the label on the product you receive.

Allergens: according to the maker, all its recipes are naturally free of tree nuts and peanuts, and the plants that make them follow a peanut-free and nut-free policy. For the Cerise & Chocolat flavour, check the ingredient list on the label.

Serving suggestion: eat it 15 to 45 minutes before exercise, or during a sustained activity of about 2 hours to keep your energy level up.
