Like Obelix, Yannick Tardy fell into the pot when he was little. His father, a top Marseille chef, taught him the basics of taste before he even had teeth! For him, the restaurant business is not just a passion: it is literally part of his DNA. He had the luck that few have had in the profession, the chance to have a chef father, a real chef, a restaurateur, a man so small and delicate but so great at the same time who bequeathed to him unparalleled know-how, almost impeccable knowledge and incredible rigor. And his mother in all this? It's simple, she is his biggest "fan"! She is still impressed by each bite of dishes prepared by her son. Basically, that's what Mista is all about. It's a family story. It's also the story of a little boy who cherished the dream of being like dad! With tenacity and hard work, he succeeded. So it was in 2003 that he opened Mista after studying cooking in Longueuil and learning the ropes by accompanying his father to a multitude of Italian restaurants in the greater Montreal area. He says he is blessed to have the clientele and staff he has! Over the years, this clientele has accepted his culinary evolution and the staff has helped him create the sense of belonging and comfort that Mista provides to visitors.
