The unique "d-Zartailles XL" cutting board
You pull it out to slice the bread and it stays on the counter: this board has too much character to go back in the cupboard.
It comes from a workshop-boutique taken over in 2017 by cabinetmaker Mathieu Jean, gold medallist in cabinetmaking at the Olympiades québécoises de la formation professionnelle et technique in 2014. He works there in small batches, pairing traditional cabinetmaking with laser cutting and engraving. Each board is assembled from a random mix of wood species, so no two are alike.
Format: available with or without custom engraving.
Dimensions: 18 x 24 x 1 ½ inches.
Materials: Canadian woods (yellow birch, maple, birch, black walnut), hand-oiled with a food-grade oil; feet screwed under the board for stability.
Care: wash by hand, wipe with a damp cloth and oil the wood periodically, following the care instructions provided.
Origin: made in Sainte-Luce, in Bas-Saint-Laurent, from Canadian woods.
