A pinch between thumb and forefinger, a quick crumble over the plate: the flakes crunch and wake up the dish at the very last second. It is a finishing salt for savoury and sweet dishes alike.
Sel Saint-Laurent was born from Manuel Bujold Richard's idea of making salt from the water of the St. Lawrence estuary, where the Labrador Current brings in very pure water. The water is drawn from the depths in winter and from the surface at high tide, in the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park area, and the salt is cold-extracted from it. The flakes are hand-harvested in Les Bergeronnes, on the Haute-Côte-Nord. The company is a member of Aliments du Québec.
Format: 125 g box.
Serving suggestion: pinch and crumble the flakes over grilled meats, vegetables, seafood, salads and even desserts, just before serving.
Storage: in an airtight container, away from moisture.
Origin: salt hand-harvested and produced in Les Bergeronnes, on the Haute-Côte-Nord.
