KWE Eco-Friendly All-Purpose Blanket
The KWE design is inspired by the jingle dance: on a red background, rows of cream cones recall the metal bells of the jingle dress, which carry prayers for healing. Kwe means "woman" in Anishinaabemowin, and the blanket honours women, their strength and their resilience.
Large enough to dress a queen-size bed or to use as a throw, it also comes along on family picnics, camping trips and evenings around the fire. MINI TIPI, an Indigenous company based in Gatineau, in the Outaouais, was co-founded by Trisha Pitura, a member of Nipissing First Nation.
Dimensions: 60 x 80 in. (about 152 x 203 cm).
Materials: eco-friendly fabric made of 20% recycled wool, 30% acrylic and 50% recycled polyester; fringed edge. The blend is warm and soft, yet washable.
Care: wash in cold water and hang to dry.
Origin: designed by MINI TIPI in Gatineau, Outaouais; fabric woven in Italy.
