An alcohol-free syrup to recreate bitter Italian-style aperitifs. Its bitter orange taste, with a tangy finish, pairs with sparkling wine in a spritz, or simply with sparkling water. It also lets you make a lower-alcohol Negroni or Manhattan.

3/4 OZ. makes it in Montréal with cinchona bark, cranberries and orange and grapefruit zest. One bottle makes up to 25 cocktails.

Format: 503 ml (17 oz) amber glass bottle, for up to 25 cocktails.

Ingredients: water, cane sugar, cinchona bark, citric acid, cranberries, orange zest, grapefruit zest, orange essential oil, vanilla extract, acacia gum.

Serving suggestion: in a glass filled with ice, pour 1 part syrup, 2 to 3 parts sparkling wine and 1 part sparkling water. Garnish with an orange slice, stir and enjoy. For an alcohol-free version, replace the sparkling wine with sparkling water, fresh juice or both.

Storage: away from light, in its amber glass bottle; refrigerate after opening.

Origin: made in Montréal.
