A steaming cup, a scent of mint and boreal forest: the day slows down a notch. The Thé du Labrador (Mamaittuqutik) blend combines Labrador tea leaves, peppermint, bearberry, fennel and ginger, here in a bulk box of tea bags.

The Délice boréal line grew out of the work of the Avataq Cultural Institute, an Inuit cultural organization in Nunavik founded in 1980, which first documented traditional herbal knowledge with Elders before turning it into a line of herbal teas in the early 2000s. The northern plants in the blend, including Labrador tea from the tundra, are hand-picked and dried by residents of Nunavik communities, in Northern Quebec.

Format: bulk box of 48 or 50 bags of 1.5 g (72 g or 75 g in total), depending on the version. Rely on the label of the product you receive.

Ingredients: bearberry leaves (uva-ursi), peppermint leaves, Labrador tea leaves (Mamaittuqutik), licorice root, eucalyptus leaves, bitter fennel seeds, coltsfoot leaves, ginger root.

Serving suggestion: steep one bag in a cup of hot water for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the strength you like.

Storage: in an airtight container, away from moisture.

Origin: northern plants hand-picked and dried in Nunavik communities, in Northern Quebec.

Precautions: contains Labrador tea, which the maker describes as stimulating.
