A golden drizzle over a late-summer salad: fresh asparagus first, then a lingering hazelnut finish. This virgin camelina oil is cold-pressed by mechanical extraction, without heat or chemical solvents, and contains 35% omega-3.
Signé Caméline is a family business founded in 2014 under the name Oliméga, the first camelina producer in Canada. Everything happens on the farm in Saint-Édouard-de-Napierville: no-till seeding by drone, drying by sun and wind with no chemical desiccant, and minimal fertilization using nitrogen-fixing bacteria. The plant has run on solar power since 2018. The virgin oil won an award from the CTAQ in 2015 and a Great Taste award in 2020.
Format: available in 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml and 1 litre.
Ingredients: virgin camelina oil.
Allergens: may contain traces of mustard, as camelina belongs to the same botanical family as mustard. According to the maker, the oil is gluten-free.
Serving suggestion: cold, in salad dressings, mayonnaise, salads and tartares; for cooking, with vegetables, meat, fish and in marinades. It stays stable up to 246 °C (475 °F).
Storage: at room temperature, away from direct sunlight; no need to refrigerate. It keeps for up to two years.
Origin: grown, pressed and bottled in Saint-Édouard-de-Napierville, in Montérégie.
