Whole dried leaves of thé des bois, also known as creeping wintergreen or simply wintergreen. This creeping aromatic plant native to North America makes a naturally refreshing, minty, caffeine-free infusion. Its taste is very close to the pink mint candies grandparents love, only more natural.
The plant is picked in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. Floèm prepares it at its production facility in Montréal.
Format: 7 g bag, loose.
Ingredients: wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens), whole dried leaves.
Allergens: according to Floèm, its infusions contain no allergenic ingredients and no gluten; however, they are not produced in certified allergen-free or gluten-free facilities.
Serving suggestion: steep the leaves for 10 to 15 minutes in water at 85 to 90 °C, then strain; boiling water can bring out bitterness. Wintergreen can also be cold-brewed and used to flavour desserts and syrups.
Storage: in an airtight container, in a cool place, away from light and moisture. Best within the first 12 months, it keeps for about 24 months.
Origin: picked in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean and prepared in Montréal.
Precautions: not recommended for pregnant women or children under 5.
